Fort Clifton Arts & Crafts Festival

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, VA — The Fort Clifton Festival began in May of 1976 as part of the Bicentennial celebration and has now become an annual event, held on Mother's Day weekend.

The festival is family-oriented and educational, and portrays the historic significance of the fort and its importance in the civil war to the Petersburg defense line. Berberich Park now encompasses the site of Fort Clifton where Confederate forces fended off various land and river attacks during May, 1864.

This year the Fort Clifton Arts & Crafts Festival will be held on May 11-12, 2013 and features many quality arts and crafts exhibitors, a variety of entertainment to include live music by Casper and The Rotations, civil war exhibitors, encampments and living history. Civil War re-enactors will also be on hand with lectures, drills, and camp demonstrations.

Children's rides and concessions will be available each day of the festival. Local civic groups will be selling hot dogs, sausage and peppers, hamburgers, funnel cakes, pizza, barbecue, french fries, ice cream, baked goods and more. Enter the door prizes and raffles for a chance to win each day.
