Montpelier Wine Festival

MONTPELIER STATION — The Montpelier Wine Festival is a premier spring event for the whole family and will be held on May 4-5, 2013. Montpelier estate is the lifelong home of James Madison, the fourth President of the United States and the "Father of the Constitution." Montpelier will be open for tours during the Festival, and attendees will receive a special discount.

The Montpelier Wine Festival will host a variety of events including distinctive arts and crafts, specialty food vendors, live music, "cooking with wine" classes, children's entertainment and rides and tastings all day.

Sample wines from over 24 of Virginia's premier wineries while enjoying a variety of live musical entertainment including jazz, bluegrass, and folk music. Stroll through a broad range of exhibits by artisans and crafters from throughout the mid-Atlantic and don’t forget to wear a hat for the Hat Contest! Each day judges will choose the most exceptional hats!

Kids will be entertained with a free ride in the barrel train as well as face painting, a kite-making class and kite-flying contest.
