Newport Pig Cookin' Contest

Cookin' to raise money

NEWPORT, NC - Gather 'round for the Annual Newport Pig Cookin' Contest to be held on April 7 & 8, 2017 at the Newport Town Park. Considered the largest non-profit whole hog pig cooking contest in the U.S.A. the event draws between 10,000 and 15,000 people each year!

Enjoy Down Home Eastern Style BBQ cooked by the best cooks in the U.S.A. who come from all over to compete and ensure bragging rights. About 80 plus cooks will compete, using their secret sauces to win over the hungry judges.

Beside the mouth watering BBQ guests may join in many springtime celebrations. The festivities include concession stands, rides, crafts, bake sales, funnel cakes, music, live entertainment, souvenirs and so much more!

The Newport Pig Cookin' Contest Organization raises money from the event to help Non-Profit Organizations fund projects that are not covered by normal operating expenses or when funding is not available. It takes months of planning and preparation to put this Festival on each year and all help is welcome and appreciated.
