Chapin Labor Day Festival & Parade

The 38th annual Chapin Labor Day Festival and Parade will be held September 2-4, 2017.
The weekend is Chapin's premier public event, with a number of family-friendly activities that promote community pride and also highlight what a great place Chapin is to live, work and play. More than 22,000 people come out during the course of the weekend to participate in the various activities which include:

 

Saturday, Sept. 2     New this year - Chapin Downtown Farmerís Market from 8:30 - 11 am on 100 block of Clark Street. The market features a variety of local growers and artisans, live music, food vendors and a health and wellness demonstration. Sponsored by Eat Smart Move More Lexington County and Farm Bureau Insurance.

Sunday, Sept. 3    Blues on Beaufort Street, a free community outdoor concert featuring Anthony Charles & the Blues Dolphins beginning at 7:00 pm. Sponsored by Chapin Liquor.

Monday, Sept. 4   Sponsored by Lexington Medical Center, the Chapin Labor Day Parade, which begins at 9:30 am, and features 100+ entries going down Chapin Road.  In addition to the annual parade, there is a street fair with vendors and concessions, a children's play area, a classic car show, book sale, arts and crafts, and local bands performing. Festival runs from 8 am - 2 pm.  Sponsored by Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative, The Shelby Raye Band will be performing live on the Beaufort Street stage beginning at 11 am.

Dining and Lodging information   
There are a number dining options in Chapin - from barbeque, Mexican, burgers, and seafood to places with great salads, sandwiches and home-made pimento cheese. From casual bistros to fine dining at Timberlake Country Club, Chapin has something for everyone.

Volunteer / Work for Event
Many local civic and charitable organizations participate throughout the weekend as volunteers, parade participants, and food vendors. Arts & crafts vendors, small businesses and organizations are welcome to reserve a tent (10'x15') to share their wares, with fees ranging from $25 - $200 depending on type of vendor.
